Health warnings on Bejai Bowyantan for children

Health Canada has warned consumers not to use the Chinese herbal remedy, Bejai Bowyantan for infants and children after determining that there is a reasonable chance that exposure to the product could cause a serious adverse reaction or death. Bejai Bowyantan contains borneolum (borneolum syntheticum), a substance with similar toxic properties to camphor, which is known to cause serious adverse reactions and death in children.
