Herbal safety news on the MCA Web site

The UK Medicines Control Agency (MCA) has added a new section on herbal safety to its Web site. The new section is dedicated to safety issues associated with herbal medicines and provides safety information for users of herbal medicines and for those involved in the herbal medicines industry. Included in the section is general advice for consumers regarding the use of herbal medicines, details of specific safety issues (including issues related to fenfluramine, St John’s wort, Aristolochia and kava), information on safety issues related to product quality, and links to herbal-medicine-related advice issued to health professionals in the agency’s Current Issues in Pharmacovigilance bulletin.
