Homoeopathic physicians and vaccination: a Belgian survey

Many homoeopaths are opposed to vaccination and some recommend homoeopathic remedies instead. A Belgian survey wanted to find out whether or not this attitude can also be found among conventionally trained physicians who are also homoeopaths. None of the 40 participants rejected vaccination completely and none claimed that homoeopathic remedies could replace them. Yet 11 advised against vaccination with Infanrix hexa, 17 against hepatitis B vaccination, eight against Haemophilus influenza type B and six against whooping cough vaccines. Only two advised against tetanus and diphtheria vaccination and none against polio. In general they preferred vaccination at an age later than the recommended age. Only four of the homoeopathic physicians, for example, agreed with the recommended Infanrix hexa vaccination at the age of 2 months.
